Darmstadt, Germany, July 15, 2016 – Merck, a leading science and technology company, today announced that Kai Beckmann, member of the Executive Board, will hand over the leadership of Human Resources (HR) to Dietmar Eidens (58) as of October 1. To date, Beckmann has performed this function concurrent to his position as member of the Executive Board. He will remain the Merck Executive Board member responsible for Human Resources. The future Chief HR Officer (CHRO) of Merck is currently head of the global HR Business Partner organization and will continue to report to Kai Beckmann.

Dietmar Eidens joined Merck in Geneva as Head of HR for Pharmaceuticals in 2009. As of 2011, he became HR business partner for Healthcare, transferring to Darmstadt in January 2013. He became head of the global HR Business Partner organization at Merck in 2015. Since that time, he has been a driver of Merck’s further internationalization.
